Crab, Chinook, and other studies funded

Red and blue king crab from waters around the Kodiak and the Pribilof islands, seals and king salmon in Bristol Bay, and sea otters in Southeast are the subjects of more than $1 million in research being funded by Alaska Sea Grant during the next twoyears. Alaska Sea Grant is a state-federal marine research program funded largely by NOAA and headquartered at the University of Alaska Fairbanks School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences. During 2012-14, Alaska Sea Grant will provide $1,179,119 in federaland state funds to support four new projects and related graduate student traineeships aimed at advancing marine science understanding.
