PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a formed and blackened shadow mask that has a thermal expansion coefficient further smaller and is useful for a flat television or the like. ;SOLUTION: This mask is formed from an Invar (registered trademark) alloy. In this case, its crystal planes have a {111} plane, a {200} plane and a {220} plane, and when the X-ray diffraction intensities of the crystal planes are defined to be I(111), I(200) and I(220), respectively, the relationship (I(111)/I(200))≥1.5 and (I(111)+I(200))/I(220)≥2 are made to satisfied.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
