To provide a method for manufacturing lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide more easily and/or at better yield.SOLUTION: A method includes a reaction between amidosulfuric acid of the formula (I) (OH)-SO-NHand halogenated sulfuric acid of the formula (II) (OH)-SO-X, where X is a halogen atom, and includes a reaction with a base which is a salt formed by a cation Q. There is related a method for manufacturing lithium or sodium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imidide salt represented by the formula (III) F-(SO)-N-(SO)-FM(M=Na,Li). A product obtained by the method is a composition containing at least 99.5 wt.% of lithium or sodium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide and 1000 ppm as even maximum of (1) LiCl, LiF and LiFSO, or (2) NaCl, NaF and NaFSO.SELECTED DRAWING: None
