M&G ENTERS NEXT GENERATION BIOFUEL MARKET

Mossi & Ghilsofi (M&G), the engineering and chemicals group based in Tortona, northern Italy, recently signed a BRL300 mln deal with Graal Bio, part of the Gradin family's Graal Investimentos vehicle, in Sao Paulo to develop a cellulosic ethanol project. The 82 mln litre plant, to be completed within a year, will start exporting fuel to the US and Europe by the end of 2014, sources close to the deal said. Feedstock sources will be bagasse and cane thrash. National development bank BNDES will contribute BRL160 mln to investment costs.
