The UK construction industry is sliding back into recession, industry leaders say after the release of government figures from the Department of the Environment (DoE) which show that second quarter construction orders were down 14 percent on the same period 12 months ago. According to the statistics, the biggest decline, with a drop of 23 percent, is in infrastructure orders and private sector industrial orders which fell by 25 percent.
