High-end hardwoods have secured a niche in the luxury home market that is holding its own at retail. At a time when sales are flat at best, these lines are providing solid profit margins for dealers and suppliers. "We're in a good market here," said David Trotz, general manager of The Square Yard in Summit, N.J. "Most of our clientele are the kind of people who have the resources to buy whatever they want. They don't have to ask about price. Hardwood is a growing part of our business and it's not just us. It's a trend in the marketplace."
