FPL FiberNet deploys Alcatel-Lucent s solution for all-IP network transformation

FPL FiberNet, a subsidiary of FPL Group Inc., and Alcatel-Lucent announced that FPL FiberNet selected and deployed Alcatel-Lucent s IP/MPLS (multiprotocol label switching) as their packet-based network to deliver Ethernet and IP services. Alcatel-Lucent s solution will enable FPL FiberNet to offer a broad suite of high quality, reliable and flexible IP-based services, as well as help FPL FiberNet meet anticipated future growth requirements. FPL FiberNet currently serves telecommunication companies, wireless carriers, Internet service providers, and enterprise and government customers in Florida through a geographically diverse and protected fiber-optic network.
