Water and air quality a top priority at Camden

"There are perceptions within the community, governments and Local councils that the coal seam gas (CSG) industry is harmful to water and air quality," says AGL General Manager Upstream Gas Mike Moraza. "The Camden Gas Project has been operating for 12 years, and there is no evidence that there is any impact to the water or air quality in the area. But we have to deal with perception in our industry, because perception drives reality, so we have taken the steps to accelerate and expand our water and air monitoring program for the benefit of community safety and confidence." AGL will be expanding their water monitoring network by increasing the number of dedicated groundwater monitoring bores from 3 to 11, testing the water quality quarterly for more substances and having equipment to continuously record water levels. The results will be regularly published by AGL.
