A recent issue of Science contained a letter by W.F.Perrin lamenting the woes of editors in their searches for qualified peer reviewers. While I can empathize with perrin's difficulty in lining up reviews, I have rarely encountered anything like the 8to 10 tries he sometimes has experienced to find someone who will agree to review a paper.
