Change to evidence based airway practice -how easy is it?

At Northampton General Hospital we have successfully changed practice of use of airway equipment to bring it into line with best available evidence. Two examples of change are described, both using the same methodology. The method described is readily transferable to other hospitals and we share this freely in the hope that best evidence-based practice could be more widely adopted. The two areas of practice targeted were selection of tracheal tube and LMA sizes.
