CULTIVATING APPALOOSA YOUTH is a series of articles born out of my own experiences as an Appaloosa youth competitor and my firm belief that cultivating a love and interest in young people for Appaloosa will ensure the future of the breed and our organization. Science continues to show what most of us who are passio about horses already know: involvement with horses and ho back riding is really good for kids. As recently as March of year, a study was published by Frontiers in Public Health sho that riding horses improves learning in children. Another stu from Washington State University showed that kids who who work with horses have reduced stress responses.
