The Western Australian Junior Olympiad

For many years, there have been enrichment activities in mathematics for school students in various age groups in Western Australia. Some of these activities, such as the Australian Mathematical Competition, the Euler, Gauss and Noether Series, the Tournament of the Towns and the Australian Mathematical Olympiad are co-ordinated nationally or internationally, but others are purely Western Australian enterprises. In particulalr, we have the UWA Academy for Young Mathematicians which is aimed at Year 10 students. One of its purposes isto identify talented youngstersfor our much more advanced programmes aimed at preparing students for the Australian and International Mathematical Olympiads.
