Muscat—Saudi Arabia aims to reduce gas flaring so that it accounts for less than 1% of natural gas production by the end of 2013, compared with around 3.5% now, Saudi Aramco’s chief gas flaring specialist told Platts in the Omani capital Muscat December 14. Wael al Blaies, in Muscat for a gas flaring workshop, said: “We have a target, by the end of 2013, to limit flaring to less than 1% of total gas production.”
