Mumbai-India’s oil ministry has cleared the proposed sale by the government of a 5% stake in majority state-owned upstream major Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and 10% in the largest public-sector refiner Indian Oil Corporation, oil secretary S. Sundareshan said September 6. “The ministry has taken the decision in principle and the proposal has to be sent to the Indian cabinet for approval,” Sundareshan said.
