Ireland has put itself on the international garden-design map since the launch of gardening show Bloom three years ago. Much of the credit for that goes to show supremo Gary Graham. The inaugural 2007 show, billed as Ireland's largest and most spectacular gardening event, brought in 49,000 visitors, despite suffering two-and-a-half days' solid rain, rising to 52,000 in 2008. And this year, in spite of the country's economic woes, more than 55,000 people visited the show, which ran from 28 May to 1 June.
