I HAVE RECENTLY had the dubious pleasure of sampling a new Volkswagen entrant to the UK car market, the budget-priced Fox. And if the new Toyota Yaris is 'Bigsmall', as defined in the 'Dictionary of Ludicrous Toyotisms', then VW's Fox should be described as 'Vastcompact', or some other such silly contrived adjective. For inside, the Fox is little short of cavernous, yet outside it remains curiously, tidily small. I should also add that it is as lacking in visual character and style as is its larger crate-like sibling, the Touran, and in my book that does it little favour.
