The largest of two tissue paper machines at Lincoln Paper and Tissue's mill in Maine was sold during a bankruptcy hearing on Feb. 23, the Bangor Daily News reported. The buyer was not publicly identified as of Feb. 24, but some who objected to the sale claimed Kruger purchased the machine. The TM 8's capacity is 35,000 tons/ year, according to RISI Intelligence. TM 8, a Metso conventional crescent former unit, was installed in 2006, and made paper for consumer tissue products, with capacity for 15,000 tons/yr of napkin paper, 11,000 tons/ yr of bathroom tissue paper, and 8,000 tons/ yr of towel paper, according to RISI Mill Intelligence... Appleton Coated collected its growing portfolio of uncoated grades under a single umbrella brand called Ethos.
