The term information holds a central place within nearly all modern sciences.Starting from von Weizsacker's fundamental consideration of the relationship between"information"and quantum theories(which has been elaborated just recently by Holger Lyre)through the chemical and biochemical description of macromolecular structures as"information-bearing"entities until considering genes as information-processing and cognitive structures or as information generating entities,the scope of the term information appears inexhaustible.Taking also into consideration the popularised version of socio-biological concepts of Dawkins"meme-approach",even the humanities seem to be matched by a generalised information-theoretical description.
