While Alaska officials bemoaned last week's decision by MidAmerican Energy Holdings to abandon plans to build a gas pipeline from the North Slope to the Lower 48,state officials already are pursuing other options.Calgary-based TransCanada said late Mar 26 it "has been engaged in renewed discussions with the state of Alaska relating to the Alaskan portion of the Alaska Highway Pipeline Project."
