Multi-trauma injuries and level of preparedness in transit refugee camps: a case in Idomeni, Greece

The peak maximization of the Middle Eastern migration crisis, as a consequence of the Syrian armed conflict, led to a massive influx of refugees into Greek territory in 2015. Idomeni, (Eiδoμεvn in Greek) is a small town in the North - Northwest of Greece, close to the border with the FYROM (Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia), with a population of 235 habitants (2011 census). The ease of passage from this specific spot from Greece to FYROM, attracted a steadily increasing number of refugees in 2015. In mid-August 2015, a refugee transit camp was set up in Idomeni in order to provide essential humanitarian care.
