Lebanese lender blom bank has announced a rare US dollar bond mandate at a time of great political upheaval in the region. The preliminary prospectus for the bond offering said that events in Syria, which has been experiencing significant armed conflict, "have had, and are likely to continue to have, an adverse impact on the political, economic and security situation in Lebanon".
