The Middle East had a quiet month with a number of tenders ongoing and under clarifications in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. Demand is solid for the next two years, and marketed supply keeps increasing in the region. In addition to the 12 confirmed rig moves into the region announced last month, one more was confirmed, namely Selective Marine Services-managed SMS ESSA which was previously called Dynamic Momentum. However, the expected demand increase is purely from tenders and demand announced in 2018 and 2019, as so far in 2020 no additional demand is expected for the time being (other than what has already been announced) especially as regional and global economic and geopolitical uncertainties continue.
