Abstract:Objective To investigate the early nutritional support management on nutritional status and complications in severe stroke patients. Methods 〓Sixty-four cases of severe stroke patients were selected as the control group between May 2015 and April 2016, receiving conventional nursing management. Another 64 patients were included as the observation group between May 2016 and April 2017, receiving nurse-led quaternity early nutritional support management. The nutrition index, incidence of complications, length of ICU stay and duration of ventilation were observed and compared between two groups. Results 〓Patients in the observation group had a higher level of serum albumin(Alb), prealbumin(PA), hemoglobin(Hb)and vitamin C(VC)compared with those in the control group at 1 month after intervention. The incidence of pulmonary infection and intestinal infection were lower in the observation group than those of controls(P0.05). Patients in the observation group had a shorter length of ICU stay and duration of ventilation compared with those in the control group(P0.01). Conclusion 〓Nurse-led quaternity early nutritional support may improve the nutritional status of severe stroke patients, so as to improve the rehabilitation.
