In recent years, more stringent coding and certification programs in Canada, coupled with additional government funding, have further encouraged Canadian institutions to build sustainably. This includes post-secondary institutions, of which several across Canada have achieved LEED? certification from the Canadian Green Building Council. Two such projects, completed within the past year at the Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in Mississauga and McMaster University's DeGroote School of Business Ron Joyce Center in Hamilton, feature water source heat pump technology from ClimateMaster as integral to achieving high energy efficiency goals and ultimate LEED Gold certifications.
