Increasing demands for marine raw materials from the aquaculture and agriculture industries, given the static global supply, have resulted in low availability and high prices of such commodities on the global market. Consequently, nutrients of today'ssalmon feeds are sourced from a wide range of raw materials. Reducing the dietary levels offish meal and oil, while maintaining the performance of the feed (growth, feed utilisation, quality and health), are key factors for the future development of theaquacu/ture industry. The aim of the present experiment was, therefore, to investigate the effect of reducing dietary levels of fish meal and fish oil on performance and feed utilisation of Atlantic salmon.
