Numerical Evaluation of the Response of the Column Web Panel under Asymmetrical Patch Loading

This paper presents a numerical analysis of the column web panel of an internal node with beams with different heights. In this particular case, the stress state becomes more complex and is currently not covered by code regulations. The characterization of the behaviour of the column web panel is carried out by comparing the FE results for a welded beam-to-column double-sided joint with two single-sided joints and the Eurocode 3 predictions for the latter case.
