In our previous study, a selection method, antigen mediated genetically modified cell amplification (AMEGA) [1], was developed, where chimeric receptor was employed as a growth switch of hematopoietic cells. In this study, we attempted to apply the AMEGA system to non-hematopoietic cells. For this application, new chimeric receptors consisting of antibody ScFv and receptor tyrosine kinase were constructed. We confirmed that these chimeric receptors could promote proliferation of not only hematopoietic but also non-hematopoietic cells, and this promotion was ligand-dependent.
