Techniques for action pairing in a multistage task assignment system are disclosed. In one particular embodiment, the techniques provide a method for action pairing in a multistage task assignment system, wherein one of a task is performed by at least one computer processor communicatively coupled and configured to operate in the multistage task assignment system. determining the above characteristics; determining, by the at least one computer processor, a sequence of agents based at least on one or more characteristics of the task; and pairing, by at least one computer processor, the task with the sequence of agents.
