ELECTRONIC RETRIEVING METHOD FOR DICTIONARY OF CHINESE CHARACTER EXPLAINED IN JAPANESE

PURPOSE:To simplify an operation and to improve the efficiency of a retrieval operation of a large quantity of documents by converting a KANJI (Chinese character) of a document format to a read pattern recognition use image data, deriving a KANJI code from the pattern recognition use image data, and executing the retrieval of a dictionary of Chinese character explained in Japanese. CONSTITUTION:A document 1 is set to a scanner 2, and a document data A mentioned in the document 1 is brought to a scanning operation. An image signal obtained by this scanning operation is read by an image reading circuit 6, and stored in an image memory 7 as an image data B being in a state that it remains read. A pattern correcting circuit 8 reads out the image data B from the image memory 7, converts it to an image data C for a pattern recognition by the dot pattern of the image data B, and stores it in a memory 13 for a pattern recognition. Subsequently, data read out of the use memory 13 for the pattern recognition and a memory 14 for a character code are brought to matching and derived from a memory for KANJI (Chinese character) code against a pattern.
