Method for preparing and packaging ceps (boletus mushrooms) in bulk for consumption after preservation, characterised in that these ceps (boletus mushrooms) are distributed in at least two groups, at least one of which is prepared raw, and in that each of these groups is deep frozen at below approximately -120 DEG C. Perfect cep (boletus mushroom) caps are preferably gathered together in a group with a part of the associated stipes, and these raw caps are garnished with a raw stuffing preparing from these stipes, these stuffed caps thus being ready to cook after preservation.
