In a double bobbin winder, where the bobbins are held between two axially facing and sliding centre sleeves, the centre sleeves (3) opposite the powered centre sleeves are located at the fixed linear drive (8) at one or more bearing pedestals (7) of the double winder. They are given an axial movement through a yoke (9) with the sleeve shafts (11) through the sleeve bearing (10), and a push-pull unit (12). A sliding bush (14) with a collar (15) is at the drive side in the bearing pedestals (13), with axial movement but keyed against rotation, together with an axially-fixed but rotating powered and slitted sleeve bearing (16). The sleeve bearing (16) slides axially in a section matching the longitudinal slit (17) of the bearing (16), and the spring-loaded sleeve shaft (18) with the centre sleeve (2) has a sliding pin (19) extending into the slit (17). Pref. the linear drive (8) is a pneumatic, electrical or hydraulic drive system. USE/ADVANTAGE - The mechanism is an automatic holder for bobbins in a double bobbin winder. The drive and holder system is simple, gives an effective clamp action on the bobbin against the catch and carrier disc, where the drive is applied from one side.
