Composition (I) contains: (a) folic acid; (b) 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolic acid and/or 5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid polyglutamate and (c) a nutrient component and/or a nutrition preparation, provided that if (c) is a nutrient component, then the amount of (b) in the overall composition (I) is greater than that in (c). Alternatively (c) may be absent if (b) is 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolic acid.
