This invention relates to a device for use in horizontal form fill and seal machine to prevent air puffing in pouches. In the existing horizontal form fill and seal machines, during sealing of wrapping film tube containing product to be packed, the air inside the wrapping film tube entrapped, in the space between the products, gets compressed leading to air-puffing tn the packets which may burst during handling. In the present invention, a slim tube of small diameter is placed over the product, within the wrapping film tube, with one end of the slim tube extending close to the cross-sealing region. The other end of the said slim tube is connected to a vacuum chamber provided with suction unit and a regulator, which regularly such out air from the wrapping film tube thereby preventing air-puffing within the pouches.
