To determine the cylinder combustion zone pressure, in an internal combustion motor, a model (30) is used to correct a fault (22) in each measured value. The motor is controlled according to the established combustion zone pressure. A heat flow (21) is computed from the motor, to give a pressure correction value (31) to provide a combustion zone corrected value (32). A measurement time (28) is used from the motor speed (26) to give a combustion pressure curve and a heat flow curve (29).
