The method involves producing multiple hierarchy levels containing lower components of a technical system and requirements e.g. customer requirements and market requirements, where the number of levels is specified based on complexity of the technical system. A new set of hierarchy levels is produced such that new requirements are determined from the components and the requirements. The components are fragmented into new lower components using the latter requirements. Design of the technical system is developed based on the lower components and the requirements of the hierarchy levels. An independent claim is also included for a computer program product comprising program codes stored in a computer-readable medium for performing a technical system designing method.
