The method involves dividing the time criticality of the associated warnings in two different time critical categories by the driver assistance system. Each time critical category is assigned to a warning intensity. The monitoring direction category is assigned to a display direction group. The display of optical warnings of a driver assistance system is occurred by optical display elements. The display of optical warnings of a driving assistance systems are occurred in the warning intensity over a certain time critical category, which is assigned to the time critical category.
