Combinations of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor activator phenofibrate with sterol absorption inhibitor ezetimibe for use in the treatment of vascular diseases

The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising therapeutic combinations of: (a) at least one peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor activator phenofibrate; and (b) at least one sterol absorption inhibitor ezetimibe and optionally at least on HMG CoA reductase inhibitor, which can be useful for treating vascular diseases, diabetes, obesity and lowering plasma levels of sterols. The invention also relates to the use of the medical combinations for the preparation of pharmaceutical compositions for the said purpose.
