Device for controlling movements of catheter-like tool within blood vessel of patient for treatment of e.g. cerebral stroke, has electromagnet and catheter whose spatial orientations are controlled using synchronizing control
The device has an electromagnet (2) i.e. traction magnet, moved in spatial directions by a motorized mechanism and exerting pulling force on a magnetic catheter such that a catheter is simultaneously introduced and spatially oriented with respect to a blood vessel structure by the force. Spatial orientations of the magnet and the catheter are controlled using synchronizing control constructed based on a computer or nuclear spin tomographic three-dimensional reconstruction of the structure and a current position of an intraluminal catheter tip detected by an electromagnetic detection.
