The system has bearing sleeves (10) rotatably supported relative to each other and separated from each other by a bearing gap (16) that is filled with bearing fluid i.e. bearing oil. The bearing gap is formed between the sleeves and a shaft (12) that is rotatably supported in the sleeves. The bearing gap is sealed by a sealing gap (38) partially filled with ionic liquid that is based on imidazole salt. Sealing surfaces of the sealing gap are coated with ionic material whose polarity is opposite to chain ends of the ionic liquid. The sealing gap is formed as a conical capillary sealing. An independent claim is also included for a spindle motor.
