Apparatus comprises: at least one solid-conveying device, respectively with a discharge end for conveying at least one proof component; a respective bulkhead arranged behind a respective discharge end, behind which at least one promoted-proof component is settled when at least one bulkhead is opened; at least one transfer device for transferring at least one proof component from at least one solid-conveying device on the substrate; and a carrier surface for the substrate. An independent claim is also included for applying at least one proof component on the substrate, comprising (a) conveying at least one proof component via at least one solid-conveying device by the respective opened bulkhead that is arranged behind the respective discharge end of at least one solid-conveying device, such that at least one promoted-proof component settles behind the respective bulkhead, (b) terminating the promotion of at least one proof component, (c) closing the respective bulkhead, and (d) transferring at least one proof component settled behind the bulkhead via at least one transfer device on the substrate.
