The application can request and receive a type of a network connection without cover the details of the actual connection is established. Hierarchical routing layer is provided in the software architecture of each processor in a computing device. The hierarchical routing layer and extract the physical proximity of the connection of the modem on the network application from the network interface using the proxy. Hierarchical routing layer on each of the processors cooperate to identify the best network interface to a network application requests. The routing layer is to enable a response to an application request for a simple way, the network interface, regardless of whether or not the network interface that is provided on the processor or other application provided on the host processor. ;
