PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To partition time series data while preventing a load on only part of split data from increasing, in a case of performing a process for extracting time series patterns by partitioning the time series data.SOLUTION: A time-series-data storage unit 11 of a data pattern analysis optimization processing apparatus 100 stores a plurality of pieces of time series data each constituted by items in time order. A prediction unit 24 calculates a predicted value of an upper limit of the number of time series patterns each constituted by a predetermined number of series of items and appearing on the time series data with frequencies exceeding a minimum support degree. A partitioning unit 26 partitions the time series data into groups based on the series items of an increased number of series and instructs execution of a prediction process if the predicted value of the upper limit exceeds an upper limit of the number of patterns to be processed by a computer performing pattern analysis. A time-series-pattern extraction unit 29 instructs extraction of time series patterns for each group if the predicted value of the upper limit is equal to or smaller than the upper limit value of the number of patterns to be processed by the computer.
