The method comprises: detecting an approaching distance for an object to approach at least one preset position on a terminal; judging whether the detected approaching distance for the object to approach various preset positions satisfies a preset requirement; if the approaching distance satisfies the preset requirement, judging that the terminal is in a handset mode at present. If the terminal is in a handset mode at present, collecting an amplitude value of a voice signal to be output by a handset module of the terminal; comparing the collected amplitude value of the voice signal to be output by the handset module with a preset third threshold value; and if the collected amplitude value of the voice signal to be output by the handset module is equal to or greater than the third threshold value, executing hearing conservation.
