Provided is a spinel-based lithium transition metal oxide for a lithium secondary battery, having a high voltage greater than or equal to 4.7 V and comprising a grain size in the range of 650-760 . The spinel-based lithium transition metal oxide for a lithium secondary battery inhibits a minor reaction with an electrolyte in a region of the high voltage greater than or equal to 4.7 V, and improves the lifespan properties and the efficiency of initial charging and discharging by the inhibition of the minor reaction. According to the present invention, the lithium transition metal oxide with the increased grain size reduces the reduction rate of the lifespan properties and the reduction rate of capacity at a high rate, and maintains the same in a high-temperature environment.
