PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly translate a Japanese proper name into a sign language.SOLUTION: An input part 101 accepts input of a Japanese proper name and its pronunciation. A division part 104 divides the proper name input by the input part 101 into each character. A character translation database 105 stores a Japanese character and a sign language corresponding to the character in association with each other. A character translation part 106 translates each character after the division by the division part 104 into the sign language associated with the character in the character translation database 105. A finger character conversion part 110 converts the pronunciation of the character, which is translated into a finger character among the characters translated by the character translation part 106, into a finger character, on the basis of the pronunciation input by the input part 101.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
