PURPOSE: To provide a proper noun input notation correction device and a proper noun input correction method capable of performing accurate correction and automatically performing the correction even when a KANA(Japanese syllabary) character string which is the reading of KANJI(Chinese character) is erroneously inputted. ;CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a collation means 200 for retrieving a proper noun data base 10 by an inputted KANA character string 100 and judging whether or not an entry corresponding to the KANA character string inside the proper noun data base 10 is present, an erroneous character string storage means 11 for storing the reading of proper nouns to be statistically easily mistaken beforehand and a correction means 300 for referring to the erroneous character string storage means 11 and performing the correction when the entry is not present in the collation means 200.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
