摘要

The potential for water reuse and recycle in each of the major water using segments of the food industry was evaluated, and projections made for the 1985 and 2000 year water withdrawals in each of the segments with the implementation of water reuse and recycle. The geographic potential for water reuse and recycle was determined in each of the Water Resource Council subregions by past water withdrawals for food processing water availability and types of food processing within the subregion. Product contamination and its impact on the health of the consumer are the major concern in water reuse and recycle in food processing.
