Anatomy is the basis of orthopedic surgery. Anatomic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction is defined as reconstruction of the ACL to its native dimensions, collagen orientation, and insertion sites. The goals of anatomic ACL reconstruction are to restore 80% to 90% of the native ACL anatomy and maintain long-term knee health.
