Qualificazione e certificazione del personale addetto alle prove non distruttive: la norma EN 473 e la Raccomandazione SNT-TC-1A dell'ASNT

It is usually well-known that the effectiveness of the non destructive examinations and the reliability of their results are widely related with the capacities of the as-signed personnel. Since 1993 is available, as alternative to the American Recommendation ASNT SNT-TC-1A, the European standard EN 473 which allowed the possibility to unify all the existing national standards. The EN 473 standard, adopted by UNI in Italy in 2001, belongs to the series of the transversals standards, oriented to the definition of general requirements for the interested area. Therefore, the standard contains the conditions for each level, method and industrial sector necessary for a basic knowledge in the different NDT techniques. The Recommended Practice ASNT SNT-TC-1A: 2001 is, on the other hand, a guideline and therefore very unlike a standard, oriented to the definition of a procedure system recommended in order to get specific qualification conditions (defined in the "Written Practice" by the employer with reference to the considered process or product), by means of the same route.
