SADDLE-POINT APPROXIMATION OF COMPACT INTEGRALS

We investigate the validity of the saddle-point approximation of integrals over the compact manifold S-n, in which the confining delta-function in the measure has been replaced by its Fourier representation. The approximation is found to deliver good results, particularly when the exact roots of the defining polynomial are used. [References: 13]
